Atsuko Suzuki was born in Osaka/Japan. She received her training at the university of the arts in Kyoto and with Arleen Augér at the music academy in Frankfurt/Main. Singing examination with special honors and concert singer's examination.
She was the second prizewinner of the International Vocalists' Competition in 's-Hertogenbosch (1986), prizewinner in the International Singing Competition in Rio de Janeiro (1987) and was awarded the gold medal of the International Music Festival for Young Soloists in Bordeaux (1988).
As a soloist Atsuko Suzuki has performed in Israel, Italy, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, France, Brazil, Japan and Germany (including at the music festival in Akko/Israel, at "Philharmonia '88" in Tel Aviv, at the music festivals in Vienne/France and St. Victor in Marseille). In 1999 she gave a song recital in Osaka/Japan in memory of Arleen Augér and in 2001 sang the second soprano solo in a performance of Cherubini's "Messe Solennelle No. 2" conducted by Riccardo Muti (CD recording).
A number of radio and television recordings document her extensive repertoire, comprising the great sacred works of virtually every period.
She has been a member of the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks since 1998.
